Thomas started playing tennis at five years old with his father at a local club. For Thomas this became a lifelong passion, where he competed in British Tour Level 1 tournaments in England, one below ITF, and then moving on to play Division II college tennis for four years. He competed in the National Club League in England, facing lower-ranked ATP international players, and achieved a career-high World Tennis Number (WTN) of 15 in Singles and 5 in Doubles.
Thomas holds a Master of Science degree in Sports Management from De Montfort University, Leicester, England. He holds tennis certifications from the United Kingdom and USA, and is certified globally within the ATP through the Global Professional Tennis Coaches Association (GPTCA) Level B.
Thomas has worked with ATP/WTA Doubles players and Nationally Ranked Juniors in England, as well as producing multiple Section IX Doubles champions over the past two years at Sportsplex New Windsor, in USTA Eastern.
Thomas has formulated a philosophy within his coaching, with a core element to support and nurture players' growth: treating everyone as an individual. Thomas continues to compete and holds an ITF Over 30s world ranking.
