Youth Fitness
Starting Strong
The Youth Fitness Training Program was specifically designed to introduce twelve and thirteen year olds to the fitness center. After successfully completing session one and two your twelve or thirteen year old will be able to use the cardio room during dedicated hours.
Parents please remember your young teen still needs to be supervised while working out in the fitness center or attending group exercise classes.
Each 45-minute session your child has with one of our fitness professionals will focus on the most important aspects of beginning an exercise program.
Session One:
Health History Review consisting of a monitor of body fat, heart rate, and blood pressure. Each child will be shown how to correctly use all pieces of cardio equipment that applies to his/or her goals: Bicycle, Treadmill, Elliptical Trainer, Stairmaster, and Rower. Your child will learn how to program and use each machine to achieve the maximum results. Ages: 12,13
Session Two:
Often neglected, warming up is proven to prevent injury and decrease muscle soreness. Your child will learn the best way to warm up their muscles. Once warm, stretching and range of motion exercises will be used to lengthen muscles and prepare for a resistance-training program. Ending with a cool down to slowly reduce the heart rate and safely end their workout. Ages: 12,13
Session Three:
Circuit training, when combined with cardiovascular training, is the ultimate way to increase one’s strength and fitness level. Our Technogym circuit was developed to deliver these results. Participants of session three will have a circuit weight training program designed for them which may include enrollment in our Activtrax Training System. Our trainers will create a custom made-workout that will target any specific needs or areas of interest to your child.
Session Four:
Congratulations! Your child is ready to workout using their own custom strength training circuit routine. Your child’s trainer will provide guidance on form and technique and offer supplemental exercises that will compliment their program. Parents are encouraged to join their child as they complete their first strength training workout and share in the knowledge they have gained while participating in our youth training program. Ages: 13

Optional Session Five:
Children naturally have optimal balance. Incorporating balance training will keep the body a step ahead of the aging process. Using balance boards, stability balls and a BOSU trainer will teach them to use their deep muscle fibers to develop overall strength to use in their everyday life. Ages: 12-18
