Mark is sectionally recognized as one of the top junior coaches. He has 25 years of experience producing top high school and college scholar athletes. From High School State Champions to Division I fullride recipients, Mark knows the junior tennis world.
Mark has served on the board of the USPTA Eastern Section as President and has spoken nationally teaching other Tennis Professionals. Named 2002 USPTA Professional of the Year. Named 2004 USTA Clinician of the Year and 2010 USTA Professional of the Year. Hundreds of students have seen the difference in their lives due to Mark’s influence.
Jason is excited about calling Sportsplex his home here in the wonderful Hudson Valley. He brings his 20 plus years of teaching to this team. Now in his fifth year as head of the Junior Program he has added Adult programs too. He runs a popular Open Drill on Tuesdays which combines strokes and point play and coaches some of the USTA summer women’s teams. On the Junior side, he has worked with the USTA/ EASTERN section as a Zonal Team Coach for the 14’s and 12’s.
Andreas is back with us after a successful stint as Head Professional at the Premier Athletic Club. Andreas brings over 10 years of expertise to Sportsplex. In addition, Andreas and Mark have teamed up to produce the best junior players in the Hudson Valley. Additionally, he’s been involved with the USTA as a Competitive Training Center coach, as well as having been a successful coach of the Cornwall H.S. Boy’s Tennis Team 98 & 99
Nick Stroynick recently completed his USPTA P2 upgrade certification. Nick brings 7 years
of coaching experience to Sportsplex. He is a proud member of the Sportsplex tennis professional staff and coaches players of all ages and skill levels.
For 5 years Nick was the Head Professional for the Monroe-Woodbury Summer Enrichment Tennis Program. Nick earned his BS degree in Physical Education from William Patterson University. “I get to play a sport that I love and I get to help others enjoy the same passion. How great is that?” Nick loves to compete in local and state wide year round USTA tournaments and USTA team matches.
Rokhsha Michael-Razi has over 20 years of experience teaching kids. She has been lead instructor for the Cornwall Jr. Tennis Club for the past four years and is currently working
on her USPTA Tennis Teaching Certification under the mentorship of the Sportsplex Tennis Staff . She completed the 10 and under tennis certification and a has been a pre-K teacher at Butterhill Day School and an active member of the Cornwall community since 1999. Rokhsha is a talented teacher who possesses the patience, technical skill and interpersonal ability to achieve positive results through empowering and motivating students.
A world traveler who has lived in Australia and Japan, speaks four languages and earned a black belt in Japanese Shorinji Kempo, Rokhsha brings a fascinating perspective to the community. Her experience and passion for teaching kids, combined with a love of tennis, make her a great addition to the Sportsplex children’s tennis program.
Matt Anastasi has spent the past four years mentored by Mark Savage at Sportsplex. Matt loves to work with kids and adults of all ages and abilities. He believes that with hard work and passion, you can reach any goal.
As a player, Matt came up through the Sportsplex program and was a two-time county and 2012 Section IX doubles champion at Cornwall High School, playing most of his career at fi rst and second singles. He also captains the Sportsplex men’s 4.5 USTA team. He is currently the number one player for Mount Saint Mary College Men’s Tennis team, and was a 2015-2016 Skyline Conference scholar athlete while leading the knights with 25 singles and doubles victories and a second-place conference finish.
Matt is currently working towards a degree in English with a dual concentration in adolescent education and special education and a minor in psychology. In 2016 while in school, he was certified by the USPTA as a professional.
Jacqueline has been certified since 2004. She has competed in USTA leagues for over 25 years, competing on the regional, sectional and national teams in Texas, Georgia, NY, and NJ
at both the 4.0/4.5 levels. She currently shares her love of tennis instructing both juniors and adults. Additionally, she has coached the Boys and Girls Tennis Teams at Washingtonville High School since 2011.
Jacqueline is a ten-year Army veteran and former faculty member in the Department of Physical Education, USMA at West Point.
