Sportsplex has recently added to their ever expanding and innovative repertoire of group fitness classes by welcoming Les Mills Programming.  These programs include Body Pump (the original barbell workout) and Body Combat (an empowering cardio workout inspired by the Martial Arts).

What Is Body Combat?
Body Combat is an empowering cardio workout inspired by The Martial Arts.  This class incorporates disciplines such as Karate, Boxing, Tae Kwon Do, Tai Chi, and Muay Thai for a fierce calorie burning workout.

Who Can Participate In Body Combat?
Anyone!  This class is perfect for anyone who wants cardiovascular training.  Whether your goal is weight loss, muscle toning, or sports conditioning, Combat provides a workout with options to suit all ages and fitness levels.

Why Should I Take A Body Combat Class?
Among the many benefits to participating in a Body Combat Class, providing the participant with improved cardiovascular fitness is among the top reasons.  Research has shown that participating in this type of class will burn an average of 500 calories, depending on things such as intensity level and body weight.  Other benefits include improved muscle speed, improved bone density, increased postural stability, and increased coordination and agility.
